UTTER DISGUST

Abalinx 8 December 2017 Peter Adamis

I am appalled at the utter disregard for our democratic system in this country. We the people are so far removed from those who live under the house on the hill in Canberra. A copy of the article can be downloaded by clicking on: UTTER DISGUST

Honestly I am finding it difficult to reconcile “INTEGRITY with “CREDIBILITY” surrounding the quality of our politicians.  Please don’t let me believe that I am alone in this.  My generation were brought up to respect those in government and those committed with upholding our democratic rights. Where are the parliamentary heroes of old who would fight the good fight? Where is our typical Aussie who would stand up against overwhelming odds and call a spade a spade?

I as an individual do not like homosexuality but I would fight to the death for any individual who has made that choice in life. I like many of my generation are not against homosexuality, nor are we homophobic or old fashioned or out of date. We are merely a generation that believes in equality and a fair go for all no matter the race, colour, gender, sexual preferences or lifestyle.

We are just don’t want others lifestyle choices thrown in our face or intruding upon our personal lives. If couples no matter their gender wish to copulate, then they can do it in the privacy of their homes and not publicise it in the media or public places.  Recently we had heads of major Australian organisations, politicians, and members of the public publicly demonstrating their physical and emotional feelings.

Well I am happy for their jubilation and wish them well. However I am of the opinion that when in such roles they must set an example. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement. I do believe that those in roles of influence and who wield power should keep their private lives private. If they don’t then they leave themselves open to public scrutiny and should not scream “blue murder” if some aspect of the intimate private life becomes public.

Imagine photographs of men having anal sex, women having sex with animals, same sex couples fornicating, transgender individuals intimidating organisations, employers and the education system.  Well, don’t think that the above is not possible. It is happening now all around us and we fail to put our hands up and say enough is enough. Politicians have gone too far.

Information is coming out thick and fast about the shoddy SSM Survey and how the LGBTQI community were used as guinea pigs. The survey was merely a tool, a ploy and a lever to shore up politicians poor image, poor ratings and failed public image.

I for one worry now more for the LGBTQI community than ever before. I do hope or all Australians that they remember how we the public has been hoodwinked into believing we were giving the LGBTQI community equality. What happened is that it has now isolated and estranged the majority of Australians who have lost faith in their politicians.

Many like me who belong to a political party will be reconsidering our alliances, our faith, commitment and dedication to our respective parties who have strayed from their ideology and what they stood for.  I may be 67 years old but I can promise readers that I will do whatever it takes to ensure that certain political individuals do not return to power.
I feel so let down and betrayed by our nation’s leaders that I can understand why people take their lives.  I feel for those struggling parents, the homeless, the pensioners, disabled, mentally impaired, the LGBTQI community and veterans.

Again I ask, WHERE ARE NATION’S HEROES. Individuals who will stand up and be counted. I would prefer that this message go viral and reach as many people as people.

THE MORE PEOPLE IT REACHES THE MORE WE GET A BALANCED POINT OF VIEW. THIS IS WHY THE FAULTY SSM SURVEY GOT UP. THE AUSTRALIAN PUBLIC WAS UTTERLY FOOLED THINKING THEY WERE VOTING FOR EQUALITY.

Share it, discuss it or become part of the complacent group of silent observers and key board warriors who do nothing but watch.   Apologies for errors of grammar and savagery of the English language.

2017 was laced with sadness with the passing of family friends and acquaintances and yet despite their passing, I have become the recipient of their memories and will not forget their contribution to making me who I am. Life as we know it can only be sustained by vigilance and with that vigilance comes responsibility.
