Melanie Stockman in my numerous discussions with her lasting a number of weeks struck me as the new brand of Liberal conservatist warrior that wanted to do her bit in her own backyard. Fed up with being taken for granted and believing that Labor had neglected the Northern suburbs of Melbourne, Melanie wanted to demonstrate that the people of Scullin would no longer accept the crumbs being offered by her opponents. Melanie Stockman a relatively new comer to the political arena, started of late in the race for to the winning post, but already making her presence felt. Endorsed recently, it did not take long for her to become actively involved.  With a small but dedicated volunteers, versed in modern campaign strategies, Melanie is creating something of a storm in Scullin.  

She is of the firm belief that her one small step into Scullin is one giant leap for the Liberal Party in the Senate and that her campaign will force her Labor opponent to install additional manpower and resources to retain the electorate of Scullin. Attracting the likes of Tony Abbott is a not only a coup, but part of her strategy to attract the neglect of the electorate by the Labor and shed light where Labor has taken the voters for granted.  Melanie as the Liberal candidate for the electorate of Scullin in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne. Melanie has lived in her electorate her entire life and knows too well the challenges the local community faces. 

Melanie is an Australian who believes in a fair go for all, assisting those who need support or are down on their luck and providing support to the business and captains of industry in creating more job opportunities in Scullin.  Like so many people in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne, Melanie Stockman has chosen to live in this area because of the lifestyle and career opportunities it presents. She also spent her adolescent years in going to school in Macleod in the electorate of Jaga Jaga and because of her affiliation in that area was not averse to assisting the Liberal candidate for Jaga Jaga, David joint campaigning. Melanie values innovation, entrepreneurship and hard work will certainly place her in an attractive position and appeal to the voters of Scullin.

With a background in marketing, management and health care, Melanie has worked both at home and abroad throughout her career.   As a mother, Melanie knows firsthand the issues facing working families in the electorate of Scullin. Melanie will fight for a low taxing economy to support the individual and local small business, create local jobs and the social benefit employment brings.   Recently Melanie became the only candidate to be able to obtain the support of Tony Abbott the former Prime Minister to assist her in Lalor, a Northern suburb of Scullin deep in the heart of Labor handle territory.

Strong, feisty, not afraid to take the battle to Labor, Melanie is doing the hard yards by campaigning actively and with the enthusiasm of a Liberal bringing a new light and force into the Northern suburbs.   A new face, a new beginning and a renewal of confidence is being injected into Scullin. Melanie Stockman is the new breed of Liberal warriors who stands by the Liberal Party’s policies and to bring jobs and growth to the North of Melbourne.  Tech savvy and up to date with local issues, Melanie is determined to fight for safer streets to attract more visitors into the area to boost the local economy and make Scullin a better place for families to live. Melanie is a young, fresh and enthusiastic voice for the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne, who has real world experience to deliver to the people of Scullin.

Melanie shares the hopes and aspirations of the Scullin community. Currently living in Epping, Melanie knows firsthand the pressures young homeowners in the area face.  Local jobs, infrastructure and services are issues she is passionate about and will fight for. Melanie will also fight for better public transport along the South Morang/Mernda corridor, while also building the much-needed roads and infrastructure to ease road traffic congestion.  Labor has held the electorate of Scullin for nearly five decades and simply take the area for granted.

Melanie is of the opinion that after speaking with the public during her campaign that Labor is simply out of touch with the needs of the Scullin electorate. That is why she is campaigning street to street, seen at train stations speaking with the passengers to and from work, at shopping centres and attending to local matters that are brought to her attention. You can bet your bottom dollar that she will certainly will be active during the pre-polling period giving her Labor opponent a run for his money. Melanie has stated that she is willing to work tirelessly for her community, and will also put the interests of the people of Scullin first.
