CHARTING THE FUTURE – A WAY FORWARD FOR THE LIBERAL PARTY VICTORIAN DIVISION
After dedicating 35 years of my life to the Liberal Party’s Victorian Division, the time has come for me to gracefully hang up my political boots. As I transition into a new chapter, I find solace in the opportunity to reflect on my experiences and share my thoughts on the Liberal Party’s Federal election campaign in Victoria. This endeavour represents my final contribution to a political party that has empowered me to express my beliefs, embrace Liberal values, and connect with extraordinary individuals who have enriched my journey. A copy of the eBook will soon be available to be downloaded.
In the book, titled “Federal Election 2025 Review: Liberal Party’s Performance in Victoria,” I aim to provide a thorough analysis of the challenges and opportunities I encountered while serving in the Liberal Party’s Victorian Division during the 2025 Federal Election. Despite my unwavering commitment to regaining political ground, I faced significant hurdles, particularly in metropolitan Melbourne, where securing substantial representation proved to be a formidable task. This review delves into the strategic missteps I made, including ineffective messaging and insufficient local engagement, which ultimately contributed to my underperformance.
The insights gleaned from this election highlight several critical areas that demand attention. First and foremost, I recognize the urgent need to forge deeper connections with local communities. Understanding their concerns and aspirations is vital. Additionally, realigning our policy focus to address pressing voter issues—such as healthcare, climate action, and social equality—has become paramount. I now appreciate the importance of robust grassroots operations and how they can galvanize support at the local level.
Moreover, I have come to understand that adapting to demographic shifts and fostering a more inclusive party culture is essential for our future success. To this end, my strategic recommendations for upcoming campaigns include rebranding initiatives aimed at rebuilding public trust, investing in digital strategies to enhance voter engagement, and ensuring our policies resonate with the priorities of the electorate. I also emphasize the necessity of adopting innovative campaign techniques, cultivating internal unity, and strengthening our bonds within the community.
Ultimately, this review serves not only as a reflection on my past performance but also as a roadmap for renewal. I advocate for a steadfast commitment to inclusivity, continuous learning, and strategic adaptation. By embracing these principles, I aspire to contribute to the Liberal Party’s revitalization, helping it reclaim its influence and success in future elections. Together, we can ensure that the party remains a relevant and effective political force, dedicated to serving Victoria’s diverse electorate and building a brighter future for all.
