Abalinx expresses its sincere regret regarding the publication of the article dated 25 January 2020, titled “Unmasking the Prophet,” which pertained to Grant Hutchinson, the former Vice-President of the Victorian Division of the Liberal Party of Australia and a previous candidate for preselection. It was addressed to and read by members of the Liberal Party until it was removed on Saturday 22 February 2020.
The intention behind the article was to reflect legitimate political opinions held by a number of members of the Liberal Party concerning Mr. Hutchinson’s conduct in his capacity as an office-holder and his suitability for public office as a Parliamentarian. However, Abalinx acknowledges that the language utilized in the article may have inadvertently conveyed implications that extended beyond that intended scope, potentially tarnishing Mr. Hutchinson’s reputation. Abalinx recognize that those comments were inappropriate and hereby withdraws them in their entirety.
As the website master of Abalinx, I take full responsibility for the content published on Abalinx and I unreservedly apologize to Mr. Hutchinson for any hurt and humiliation that resulted from the inelegance of the language used in the article and for the distress caused by its publication.
Abalinx remains committed to upholding the highest standards of journalistic integrity. Moving forward, Abalinx will remain dedicated to ensuring that our reporting reflects fairness, accuracy, and respect for all individuals. When I get it wrong, I accept responsibility acknowledging the importance of responsible journalism to public debate and discourse.
